The Shandaken Art Studio Tour, July 18-19

Slide From Westkill, in progress
On Tour
at Home

SNEAK PREVIEW BELOW!

Hi folks,

Recognize this mountain?  It’s Slide Mountain, the highest peak in the Catskills, viewed from the flanks of Westkill Mountain near my home – and the subject of my work today.  This is just one reason to be an artist in Shandaken.  I’m proud to be participating in the Shandaken Art Studio tour next month.  Come meet the artists on Saturday, July 18th and Sunday the 19th.  Mark your calendars!

Here’s your chance to meet the artist behind all my weekly images – me! Come see the original illustrations from over thirty published children’s books.  Peruse my old linoleum block prints from my early days as an artist.  See hundreds of paintings in gouache and acrylic, more recently oils on canvas – art influenced by African culture and tribal art; unique mother & child art; hundreds of religious illustrations (Jewish and Christian); landscapes and still-lifes old and new (including the one I’m working on today, in progress, shown above) – and more.  My new calendar, The Jewish Eye 5776/2016, will be for sale and discounted, along with signed children’s books, posters, and greeting cards.  My prices are low and my art is affordable.  I’m a social artist, and I like meeting people who appreciate art.

And to top it all off, my neighbor Dave Channon is also on the tour, and his outdoor sculptures are amazing!  Further up the road, Mona Jacobs will have paintings to show too.  So if you’re local, come on up the Hollow and meet us creative folk.

Support your local artists!  Spread the word please . . .
