Blessed Are You

This image was painted years ago as a Biblical illustration.  In all honesty, I do not remember what Biblical passage I was commissioned to do.   I lost track of the painting until just a few weeks ago, when I came across it by accident.  Clearly it’s an image of human potential.  Is the curled-up figure sick, rising up to become the one who is healed?  Or is this person simply withdrawn or asleep, waiting for the moment to reach out and rejoice?  Either way, the presence of community around this individual is important.

Whatever we reach for in life, manifestation is preceded by some kind of introspection or ingathering.  May this image serve as a metaphor for your unfolding creativity . . .
